Leçek, the Collaborative Album by Ali Doğan Gönültaş and Saîde Goyî, coming soon! First single already published
The collaborative album Leçek by Ali Doğan Gönültaş and Saîdê Goyî will be released on all digital platforms on 1st of December 2026. The leçek is a white headscarf typically used by Kurdish women. It has great cultural and symbolic significance, associated with respect for women, their moral authority and their role as mediators in conflicts. When a woman drops a leçek on the ground between two feuding families or individuals, the violence must cease. The leçek appears in all the 5 videos of the album.
The album’s first song and music video, Kewnar, was released on 29th of October. Directed by Veysel Seçen, it marks the beginning of a series of five music videos, with four more to be released ahead of the album.
Conceived as interconnected chapters, the five videos unfold around a shared theme, forming a single narrative. Leçek sometimes grows heavy, sometimes disperses, sometimes turns into rain. Yet it never stops moving; it continues to exist.
Carrying both sorrow and joy, separation and love, Leçek drifts across the landscape like a cloud. It visits migrations, loves, partings, homes and roads, carrying what it encounters into other stories. Here, the sorrow of migration flows gently and lyrically, without turning into a lament. Because even in the hardest of times, life finds room for love, laughter, dance and the will to carry on.
Leçek is a reminder that, despite everything, life, love and the journey forward remain possible.
